Authentic Montessori Education Since 1981
Founded in 1981 by Mr. and Mrs. Kerbawy, The Maria Montessori Center was established with a vision of providing authentic Montessori education rooted in academic excellence, independence, respect, and lifelong learning. For over four decades, our school has remained dedicated to nurturing the whole child while preserving the principles of Dr. Maria Montessori.
In November 2017, Mrs. Mona Ahuja took leadership of The Maria Montessori Center, bringing extensive educational experience, a deep understanding of Montessori philosophy, and an unwavering commitment to children. Driven by her passion for purposeful, child-centered education, she dedicated herself to preserving the school’s rich heritage while strengthening its academic foundation, nurturing environment, and family-centered community. Her dedication and vision have played an instrumental role in shaping the school into the Montessori community it is today.
Continuing this legacy, Ms. Deepti Ahuja, the new directress, brings a thoughtful and forward-looking approach to Montessori education. With a background in psychology and Montessori education, along with an Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) Primary Diploma and an American Montessori Society (AMS) Elementary Diploma, she combines a deep understanding of child development with a commitment to educational excellence.
Ms. Deepti’s leadership philosophy emphasizes strong academics, independence, critical thinking, emotional intelligence, and character development. She believes that meaningful education must extend beyond academic achievement, preparing children with the confidence, resilience, compassion, and practical skills needed for life. Her approach balances the authenticity of Montessori principles with thoughtful innovation, professional growth among educators, and strong collaboration between families and the school.
With a shared commitment to Montessori excellence, Mrs. Mona Ahuja and Ms. Deepti Ahuja continue to honor the school’s longstanding heritage while building a purposeful and inspiring future for generations of learners.
As a nonprofit Montessori community, The Maria Montessori Center remains dedicated to academic excellence, meaningful family partnerships, and whole-child development. We strive to create an environment where every child is respected, challenged, and empowered to become a confident, capable, and compassionate lifelong learner.
